Dear Reader, Do you remember those last few weeks or months of pregnancy? Maybe there was some urgency to getting everything in place. Maybe there was some discomfort... waddling, needing 4 pillows to sleep at night, couldn't breathe or eat too much, but also perhaps a sense of stillness or closeness with your partner... But once baby came, all of that changed! In an instant! Your world upside down. Does anything feel familiar? I would like to offer something that may have resonance with your pregnancy - yoga. That time when you could let the world fall away and just breathe for yourself! Ok,I know, like I said, it has resonance. Not exactly the same. In postnatal yoga you are welcome with or without baby (babes who are not very mobile yet). You will be supported to move in ways that feel nourishing and restorative - whether that's abdominal work, or stretching open your chest, or being with other new moms. By the way, if you are not a "new" mom but you're looking for a restorative class and like babies, you too are welcome. Postnatal yoga is an ongoing weekly class. Preregistration is helpful by not required. You are welcome to come as you are! Thursdays, 10-11am at Southside Studio Co-op (337 MLK Jr Dr).
See you soon! Blessings, β Just so that you know all the ways I can support you |
If I can share space in your inbox, I'll whisper my heart-felt musings on the making of Mother Culture - and invite you to our gatherings

It sounds a bit trite or perhaps even unnecessary since our bodies were βmade to do it.β What I mean by prepare is not just stretching the body, practicing βcomfort measures,β and having all the gadgets, diapers and clothing that you need. I want you to have the resource of inner wisdom so that you know how to listen to...
Dear Reader, When I had my first son, I thought I knew something about the nervous system...I was a yoga teacher and all. π§βοΈ But really, I knew nothing about MY nervous system. I didn't understand the nervous system in labor and birth, or the nervous system in bonding with our babies, and especially about this DAILY spiritual practice of mothering and how MUCH my nervous system directs this experience! Well, thankfully I've learned from some amazing women about embodied mothering - the birth...
Dear Reader, I'm going to cut to the chase: how was your birth? Beautiful? Ecstatic? Powerful? Traumatic? Confusing? Not the way you wanted, but you're still ok? Many of these together? Honestly, regardless of how your birth went, we ALL need some level of repair. Help recombobulating. Integrating. This is actually a vital part of the initiation of birth that our culture misses. One of the reasons we struggle so much in postpartum and mothering. MotherCircle is a way to close that gap - to...
